Lucy Brown, aka "andadaughter"

She lost her father's house playing poker (she had three tens and her opponent, Maurice Pikar, had a straight - ref). Now she drives (and owns?) a limo (phone: 1-877-768-8147, Brown's 'Let It Ride' Limousine Service). Her great Uncle, Lucky Brown left her a gun (also left her a pocket watch) - an old Navy Colt. After Robert got shot during her meeting with him at the cemetery (September 21, 2005, Wednesday), Clay Sizemore, her acquaintance/friend, got the gun. She didn't tell the police Clay was there. After that, she got a phone message from an old creepy guy (The Buyer?) who has "known her family for a long time", demanding a meeting. Thedealer (Lucky Brown), warned us that she is in mortal danger. The Saturday after Robert died (something doesn't jive here, as the meeting happened on Sept. 23, which is a Friday), the old man and a bodyguard-type dude in gloves, visited her in her apartment looking for the Gun.

On Sept. 28th we find out that Lucy has three brothers - Seth, Zach, and Devon - and a niece, Cara. Seth, Lucy's Mom, Dad, and a bunch of other relatives attended Robert's funeral.

Lucy saw Maurice (turns out it was Maurice who visited her in her apartment) at the funeral. She made her Mom talk to him, but it's unclear whether he and Lucy spoke.

Lucy got taken to jail - the cops thought she was "holding out info on Robert's murder". While there, she met a hooker named Shaylee, who recommended a bail bond service to her. On September 29th (or, um, 30th, as we seem to have a discrepancy again), Lucy got bailed and released from jail.

On Oct. 3, Lucy drove somebody to his hotel. Later that afternoon, Lucy drove William Shiner to a poker game; before that, she met Linda and Mark Chapman outside (while waiting for William). At the poker game Lucy sees William play a hand and nearly faints. Lucy's reaction (well, and other generally odd behavior) gets them thrown out. Lucy probably "reacted" because the cards spelled out "Maurice is all in" (ref, more ref). When Lucy drove William home, he offered her to stay at his place (out of the goodness of his heart, and not because of what you thought). She politely declined. Later that night, Spider comes looking for Lucy in a bar. Woo, catfight. Spider was looking for the Gun. Naturally, Lucy didn't tell her anything. While Lucy didn't know who Spider was, she knew that she was one of "Vaquero's girls".

According to Devon, Lucy had a really troubled relationship with her Mom when she was growing up. Lucy was "too smart for any system she didn’t devise on her own." Lucky, as opposed to the rest of Lucy's family, encouraged her to play; and when she lost, she stopped talking to him - not because she felt that it was his fault, but because she couldn't bear him treating her as a loser (Lucky offered her, and then her Mom the money she lost, and after they refused, appropriated that sum of money to Rick and Janet in his will - ref).

On Oct. 6th, Lucy told someone she drove that she got a real job as a non-profit lawyer, and that she got her law degree at the end of August. What's up with that?

The same day Lucy did decide to accept William's offer to move in. William is all too excited about Robert's murder, and wants Lucy to launch an independent investigation. Figuring that since neither the cops nor Spider's guys have the Gun, Clay must have the Gun, Lucy went over to Clay's place. There, she got the Gun from Clay and learned that Maurice is dead. After having read the obituary, Lucy went to Maurice's funeral on Saturday. Simon was there, and he was very nice to Lucy - even warned her to "be careful" - and told her that the Gun was "the JEB Stuart gun", whatever that means.  Aaaaand... [Oct. 12] it means: J.E.B. Stuart was a Confederate General, and a Brown himself (Lucky confirmed that J.E.B. was "kin" later that night).

On Oct. 10th, Lucy and William break into Millie's (Robert's widow) apartment.  While there, Lucy looks through Robert's files and e-mails, but finds nothing interesting (except some pr0n).  However, she finds a coaster with an imprint of a phone number (888-217-2311) - if you call this number, it will fax you back an interesting flyer from an anti-Semitic "patriot" organization "Liberty Calls".

Meanwhile, on Oct. 12th, someone named Johnny is looking through (taking?) pictures of Lucy bathing.  Johnny knows that "Big Hat" is looking for the girl and the gun, and thinks he can make a lot of money (because he probably knows where she is).

On Oct. 14th Lucy wrote to Devon that William's doorman doesn't like her.

The same day William had a party, to which he unwittingly invited Johnny Deuces (the guy with Lucy's bathing pictures). When Lucy came home she found that The Gun, which she hid in a shoe box in William's closet, got stolen.

Lucy likes to make up stories.

On Oct.18th, William gave Lucy Simon's envelope with Maurice's black book, a photo of Martin/Maria, and a note from Simon. Apparently, the envelope - previously? - contained pictures of Robert's shooting (taken by Simon), and was originally addressed to Corazon (you have to click on the label in the flash to reveal that). Simon got the photos from a contact in LAPD, but Lucy doesn't know how they got to LAPD in the first place. Following the original envelope label, Lucy found Corazon on Oct. 21st and told her what she knew. The two went through Victor's camera, found the originals of Robert's murder, and sent them to Simon.

On Oct. 24th Lucy was having dinner at Corazon's when Kerry, badly beaten by Simon, showed up. Lucy already explained to Corazon why Kerry killed Victor - someone had to get rid of him because he witnessed (and even photographed) Robert's murder. It's unclear how much Kerry will tell her or Corazon, but in the end, Simon will probably let Lucy know that that someone is McPherson.

On Oct. 26th Lucy drove another person for free and told another made-up lifestory - meanwhile, William was getting kidnapped by Spider.

As we expected, Spider calls Lucy and demands the Gun in exchange for William (Oct. 28). Lucy told her Mom and Dad about the kidnapping, and they suggested she call Jerry (the family lawyer). Her Mom also told her about the pictures Lucky left and about the great x great Uncle John (who undoubtedly had/gave to someone/got the Gun in the 1914 story).

Robert Brown

Lucy's cousin (as per phone message at 1-877-768-8147 *5829), and thedealer's son (and, therefore, actually an Uncle to Lucy). Had a wife, Millie. Got an offer of $50,000 from The Buyer for the Colt. Set up the meeting at the cemetery to buy the gun from Lucy. During the meeting, got shot by that mid 30-s guy with dirty blond hair (whom we later come to know as Kink). Is now dead. Seems like he has a brother, but this isn't that clear now.

Robert had this phone number written on a coaster at his apartment: 888-217-2311.  It doesn't necessarily mean that he supported Liberty Calls - just that he probably knew Lothar Barbel (and also, possibly, that it was Barbel who contacted him about the Gun).

Millie Brown (?)

Robert's wife. Wants to be a classy lady, but isn't. Her marriage to Robert seems to have been a little rocky (well, duh, he was such a fan of Sunset Blvd. hookers). She and Robert did not have kids.

Seth Brown

Lucy's brother. Stanford Law grad, has a wife Kathleen and ten-month-old daughter Cara. Is "rock-steady reliable and highly law-abiding" and not street-smart. His wife is also "perfect", albeit "plastic". (ref)

Zach Brown

Lucy's brother. "Math Diva", studies in Boston. (ref). According to Lucy, he is completely out of touch of with this world.

Devon Brown

Lucy's brother. Is "on a ship off Antarctica doing research." Has been in a car wreck.

Rick Brown

Lucy's father. He thinks Lucy should "get her life together" on her own (without parents' help).

Janet Brown, one-eyed Queen

Lucy's mother. Lucy drew this picture of her when she was little and called Janet "the Jack of Spades, only female, of course." In addition to this picture, there is another one for Janet here - tarot-style.

Despite their somewhat strained relationship (Lucy was just "and a daughter", she was always in trouble, etc.), Janet seems genuinely concerned for Lucy.

Has this prohibition-era letter from Lucky's Uncle, Seamus. The letter is addressed to Lucky's mother, Mary, who would be Janet's Grandmother.

Seamus Brown

Lucky's Uncle. Lived in Chicago, where he was a rather loosely-oriented policeman during Prohibition. Remained on the force all the way into the 1940s.

Maurice Pikar

Old Man, pushing eighty. Wants the gun. Met Lucy in her apartment the Saturday after Robert died. He is the man that Lucy lost her father's house to in poker (ref). We're not sure how their meeting ended, but, at least, everyone got out alive :-)

Maurice attended Robert's funeral, where Lucy made her Mom talk to him. According to this, Maurice met Lucky "in Germany, at a hanging - a good one." During a poker chat on Sept. 28th, Lucky gave out his last name (Pikar). Lucky also said that "his POWs kept getting shot trying to escape" and "After the hanging, they made me his babysitter" (this is all during WWII, to be sure). We don't know if Lucy herself talked to Maurice at the funeral.

Maurice has "connections" at LAPD - Phil Kim. His previous connection was Abe Tilley. Maurice requested information about Robert's murder case from Kim on the day of the funeral, and found out that a US Marshall (Don McPherson) is also interested in this case (though he is working on something gang-related). Maurice pays Kim for the information with this gun and a $1000.

Maurice, apparently, grew up in Chicago and worked at a dry-cleaner's shop (ref). We know that Maurice and Lucky "walked into Buchenwald" together. According to this, Maurice was "the last person to kill a man with the Gun." A couple of decades later, on July 12, 1969, Maurice takes a man (who appears to be a Nazi war criminal) out of a prison in Paraguay and shoots him execution-style. We don't know the man's name, but before dying, the man alludes that someone named Gottlieb might have been trying to send someone for him.

Maurice is Jewish, but "came late to observance". Simon - his "brother in arms" is teaching him the practices. Maurice appears to be on a hunt for Nazi war criminals, or, maybe, just Nazis in general. Given this remark: "It’s an old debt" (ref), Maurice considers the Gun to be a matter of an old debt... probably to Lucky. On October 19th, we found out that Maurice killed one too many Germans (with the Gun, I might add) after the war was over, and Lucky took the rap for him (ref). This is how Lucky got the Gun. Maurice had "no family" and "a life given to a cause" (ref).

On Oct. 4, Maurice met with Kim at Applebee's and gave him a gun in exchange for information (probably about Robert's case).

Later that day, Maurice was selling Chinese rifles somewhere in West LA and feeling bad about working on Rosh Hashanah. After sealing the deal, Maurice ran into Cigarette in the parking garage. And though Maurice didn't fall for the canoe line, Cigarette still managed to shoot him. It seems that Maurice was more disturbed about being killed by someone that "looked like a perfect Nazi" than anything else. Maurice' body was discovered in the garage by two cleaning ladies.

Next day, Maurice joined Lucky at a poker game with us, and Lucky told him that he "tried to warn him".

After the San Francisco live event on Oct. 15th, Lucky transports lastcall back to 1945 and becomes a character.

In October of 1945, Maurice was taking a little too much liberty with shooting his "escaping" prisoners, and on Oct. 13, Lucky was made his "babysitter" (ref). Maurice is one of the Three Musketeers.

His little black book entry for Oct. 15/19, 1945. This may be the hanging of the SD officer that Franz Mueller witnessed.

And this explains when and why Maurice began his hunt for Nazis.

On Oct. 18th, after a lovely encounter with a prostitute, Maurice hears someone get shot outside of Metropole - that is Mueller killing Johnny Whitecloud, as per Svetlana's orders. Maurice kills Mueller (with the Whitecloud's Colt - the Gun), but Lucky, who runs out just a second too late, sees that. After Maurice asks Lucky not to tell Maria (Martin Halder), Lucky decides to take the rap for Maurice, who has already killed enough Germans "by accident" and otherwise. Maurice hands him Whitecloud's Gun.

Simon Bassi

Seems to be Maurice's bodyguard/"brother in arms"/junior partner in the hunt for... Nazis? Teaches Maurice about Judaism, as Maurice "came late into observance." Either lives or stays [on duty] frequently in Maurice' apartment. Watches a lot of history channel. He was the guy that came with Maurice to Lucy's apartment. Is Israeli. Curiously enough, his signature is on Lucy's bail release.

Handy portrait captioned "hashochet" (= butcher).

On Sept 30th, he searched Clay's apartment for Lucy's gun, but didn't find it.

After Maurice died, he said "Simon is going to be all right, I think. I think it was time for him to find a new direction in life."

Simon had a wife who spoke Hebrew with a Russian accent, named Katarina (ref). Katarina left Simon because he was too devoted to his cause to have a family. Maurice wasn't happy about that - I'm guessing he wanted Simon to have a better life than he did.

At Maurice's funeral on Friday/Saturday (around Oct. 8th), Simon told Lucy that the Gun was a "Jeb Stuart gun". On Oct 14th he sent Lucy an envelope. The envelope contained (also: photo of Maurice, Jerry, and Lucky; Martin/Maria's photo; and Maurice' black book) photos of Robert's shooting, but it is unclear how Simon got if from LAPD in the first place.

On Oct. 22nd, Simon found Kerry Tucker (Maurice's killer) - Lucy, after meeting with Corazon, told him that Kerry killed Victor. Simon told Kerry he wants to know who is behind him (so that he may learn why that person wanted Maurice dead). Kerry told Simon that he hired Kink for McPherson.

Clay Sizemore, aka preacher

claysizemore@gmail.com

Works at a Deli-Mart in LA (61619 S. Cochran, LA 90036). According to this and some other references that I cannot find at the moment, he used to be a priest, until he allegedly had an affair with a minor, and got convicted. He might have got convicted for stealing the Church's money, though (ref), and the statutory rape stuff might be just a rumor.

Helped Lucy when Kink held her at gunpoint at the cemetery (ref - video). As a convict, he couldn't carry a gun, so he threw away the gun he used at the cemetery (Lucy also asked him to do that). He picked up the Colt after Lucy threw it at the creepy blond guy. He lied to Lucy - told her he hasn't seen the Colt because he thinks that "They were going to kill her if she had the gun, and if he told her where it was, she would come for it." The cemetery shooting happened on Sept. 21. As of Sept. 30, he still has the Gun. Btw, he and Lucy appear to have met at Gamblers Anonymous, and Clay followed her to the cemetery from one of the meetings.

On August 29, 2005, at approximately 12:10 am, Paco (Francis) Cisneros attempted to rob the Deli-Mart while Clay was on shift. There was a shootout between Paco and Corazon Suarez, as a result of which Paco fled. According to the police report, neither Corazon nor Clay know who the robber (Paco) was.

Drives an old Accord. When Clay decided to give the gun back to Lucy, he saw her getting shoved into a car by two uniformed cops (around Sept. 29th).

On Sept. 29th, Clay had a spiritual conversation with Cigarette.

Clay hid Lucy's gun in a planter. Shortly thereafter, on the morning of Sept. 30, he got visited by Simon Bassi (Maurice's guy who came to Lucy's apartment). Simon searched Clay's apartment for the gun, didn't find it, and politely showed himself out.

On Oct. 6 Lucy came to Clay's place to get the Gun - she figured Clay must have it since nobody else did. Btw, Clay wants to "commit sins with Lucy" - he has a crush on her.

Clay knew Tony Viet from "around the neighborhood". On Oct. 18th, Tony stopped by Clay's store and the two had a lovely, friendly conversation.

On the 20th, probably after Matt already got the Gun, he made an acquaintance of Clay.

On Oct. 25th Matt Viet brought Clay the Gun. Clay contemplated throwing it off the Santa Monica Pier, but, upon further consideration and some soul-searching, decided to hide it back in the same planter.

Paco (Francis) Cisneros

Gangsta-type. On Aug. 29, 2005, tried to rob the Deli-Mart where Clay Sizemore works. Worked the corner previously worked by someone named Ruben. His own corner got taken over by Mi Casa (another gang). Was shot by Cigarette during what he thought was a drug sale on the night of Sept. 20, 2005.

Paco knew Sam Ligaya and thought he was a "good dude".

Corazon Suarez

Shot at Paco (Francis) Cisneros as he was trying to rob the Deli-mart where Clay works (Aug. 29, 2005). Has a boyfriend, Victor. More on Victor here. Victor has some "tasteful art photos" of Corazon on flickr.

Has a Mother named Luz , brother named Chaco, sister named Novia (with a baby already).

Corazon does "filing work a day a week at the center" and works at an escort service (aside from doing soft pr0n photo shoots) (ref). According to Vic, she also "knows half the neighborhood" and is "into Latina politics".

On Oct.4, Cigarette (Kerry) paid Corazon a visit. He gave her Victor's key to a safe deposit box; Corazon suspected the worst about Victor, but couldn't get a confirmation out of Cigarette (Kerry). She gave him a business card and asked to call her if he hears from Victor.

On Oct. 10th, she got this note from Kerry. Later that day, they went to the bank together and opened Victor's safe deposit box (which, btw, appears to contain strictly tasteful art photos). It was there she realized that Victor is dead.

On Oct. 14th, Corazon was preparing to kill Kerry (she realized he must have killed Victor). But when Kerry came and told her his life story, all she managed to do was: a) threaten him with the police and b) tell him that she is a Pre-op transsexual. Yes, she's still hot. Get over it.

On Oct. 21st Corazon met Lucy - Lucy found her through a label on Victor's envelope. After a little persuasion by Lucy, Corazon agrees to cooperate, it seems. The two find the originals of the murder shots on Victor's camera and tell Simon.

On Oct. 24th Corazon had Lucy over for dinner when Kerry showed up. Now Corazon knows why he killed Victor - because Victor photographed Robert's murder.

On Oct. 28th Corazon met with Kerry again. Kerry told her that the cop who hired him to kill Victor is now looking for the Gun, the pawn ticket to which should be with Pedro Suarez. Since Corazon is Pedro Suarez, and it was she that Johnny Deuces gave the pawn ticket to, Kerry tells her to leave (and hide). Corazon begged Kerry to make sure that her brother Johnny is all right, and Kerry promised to do what he can (which was not much, as we know, since Johnny got shot by McPherson's guy) and gave him the ticket.

Victor Aldridge

Aka "simko", I suppose? Corazon's boyfriend. Wanna-be-director (documentaries, to be more specific). Worked for/was a proprietor of/had something to do with Vision Action Studios. He and Corazon didn't live together, but she had keys to his place.

It looks like he made porn on the side (he says he really wanted to make documentaries). Met with Cigarette to "discuss" what he thought was a "business deal", and was shot by him. Gave him a key (to what turned out to be a safe deposit box) to give to Corazon before death. (ref)

Victor's body has probably been crushed along with a wrecked car that Cigarette dumped it in. The hat that Cigarette put on Victor's face after he shot him was found by the junkyard owner's dog, and, considering it to be his lucky charm, the junkyard owner took it to Vegas where he happily lost it in the bushes of a casino's parking lot. The hat was recovered by Konamouse (a player).

When we were chatting with Vic post-mortem on Oct. 1, he told us that he wanted to work for the NFB.

Vic knew Cigarette's name - Kerry Tucker - but, as of Oct. 8, he still doesn't know why Kerry shot him. Neither do we.

Well, as of Oct. 12th, we do. Don McPherson sent Vic to take photos of Kink to make sure "that Kink did what he was told and didn't try to sneak the gun". After Vic told Don that they should call LAPD because - hey, someone got shot! - Don decided to get rid of him.

William Shiner

Was in Lucy's little black book. Is a forgotten actor and a drunk; used to be a child star. Wants to be in some Bonnie and Clyde musicale. Richard Brunswick is his agent. Phone: 310-694-3992.

Lucy drives him around in her limo; on Oct. 3rd, she drove him to a poker game that she hooked him up with. William was trying to practice before Celebrity Poker Survivor. Lucy sort of helped him out during the game, and, as she drove him back home and told him some people were after her, William offered her to stay at his place.

On Oct. 6, Lucy moved in with William - because too many bad guys are after her, and her apartment isn't safe anymore. William's apartment has been decorated by someone named Mona. Apparently, Mona was Bulgarian; we don't know if she was William's roommate, girlfriend, or decorator.

William wants Lucy to look for Robert's murderer independently of the cops, and goes with her to Clay's apartment to get the Gun back. He also accompanies Lucy to Maurice's funeral.

On Oct. 10th, William broke into Robert's widow's apartment with Lucy (ref, ref).

On Oct. 14th, William received a package addressed to Lucy from Simon; it contained Maurice's little black book (but, for some reason, he didn't give it to Lucy until Oct. 21 :P).

On Oct. 26th, after getting pissed off about being auditioned for Celebrity Poker Survivor and fighting with Brunswick (his agent), William is driven by another chauffeur - Lucy is busy driving people for free. On the way, his limo is stopped by Spider - she is looking for Lucy. In lieu of Lucy, Spider shoots William's driver and kidnaps William - she think Lucy will "deal" to save him.

Stan Corbet

William Shiner's doorman.

Richard Brunswick

William Shiner's agent.

Matt Viet, aka wtf616

Is Tony Viet's cousin. Born on March 16, 1990 (ref). Due to a hacking screw-up on Sept. 21, he ended up wiping the local cell system, causing an outage to some 300,000 cell phones in LA. According to this chat log , fish00k (who calls himself sheriff) is onto him.

A few days later, while bragging to Trey about his 1337 skillz, Matt got a visit from someone in a white van. Matt decided not to stick around to shake hands, and fled his house.

As of Oct.1, Matt is doing some credit card scam for Tony in exchange for refuge. Fish00k is still hard after him - hacked Matt's account with a "wtf616, worldclass asshole" signature. Matt says he knows some "guy who used to be in a warez group with him [fish00k]".

Matt is also helping Tony rob people's houses and replace police crime tapes (transcript).

On Oct. 3rd, Matt stayed on the phone with Tony as Tony shot the hand of the guy they think to be fish00k.

On Oct. 7th Matt was hanging out with Sam Ligaya on the infamous drug corner when Kerry approached them. Sam quickly sent Matt away - he was hoping to do a drug sale with Kerry. Instead, he got shot.

The same day, Harry Nakagawa filled out an arrest warrant request for Matt.

The day Tony Viet died (Oct. 18), he gave Matt his cell phone and told him to take over for the day. A couple of days later, Matt is still with Tony's gang, which is quickly falling apart). Unable to take Sarah's (Tony's girlfriend) whining anymore, he slams out. On the 20th, Matt picks up (albeit with a bit of a fight) the Gun from Toller Fazio's pawn shop. The same day, Matt made an acquaintance of Clay and called Ben Rojas - just to "screw with him".

On Oct. 25th Matt went back to the DeliMart and gave Clay the Gun - he couldn't handle having it anymore.

Anthony Viet

Phone: 323-924-1638. Interrogated someone for Ruben's murder. Is at odds with Mi Casa. "Is cool" with the TST gang. Knows someone named Porky (who appears to be in TST). Apparently rulez somewhere around Temple Street.

"Took Matt in" some time after Matt had to flee his house - Matt is doing various "hax0ring" jobs for him.

On Oct. 3rd Tony and a couple of his cronies (Tenor and Lojack) visited a guy named Todd Wachowski and shot his hand. He must have been the guy from the warez group Tony talked about here. Not sure at this point if Todd was fish00k, though.

On Oct. 18th, Tony stopped by Clay's store and told him that he has a "funny feeling". Later that day, Tony muses about his and Matt's childhood (Tony tried to teach Matt some "basics") and tells Matt that he would like to take a day off with his girl, Sarah Trinh. Shortly thereafter, Don McPherson's guys capture Tony; McPherson has a short rather uninformative monologue (it seems that mostly, he is pissed off about Matt's "computer business") and then hangs Tony.

Sarah Trinh

Tony's latest girlfriend; she was with him on Oct. 18th, when McPherson's guy took him away.

Trey Muncie, aka Omar Hakim

Was on the phone with Matt Viet as the latter was doing the cell phone hack.

Lincoln "Kink" Coover

Brief bio. Signs his victims with "KINK" (or, at least, I think that's a signature and not a tattoo on Kink's lifeless arm). He was the shooter at the cemetery (Sept. 21); killed Robert; went there in the first place to get The Gun from Lucy. Drug addict. Has a girlfriend, Irene. Got shot by "his employer" - Don McPherson (because he knew about the gun and Lucy - ref). Is now dead.

In a poker chat on Oct. 1, Kink told us that he knows some girls that work for Vaquero.

Poor dead Kink is being chased around by dead Robert... um, somewhere *rolls eyes*. Also, he's now "watching Lucy like a HAWK" - because he blames her for his death, I'm guessing (ref).

Vaquero

Shaylee's pimp. Had a conversation with the American Eagle Bail Bondsman about one of his (Vaquero's) girls, Arana.

Spider, aka Arana

Arana works in LA, for Vaquero, though it's hard to tell in what capacity. Does the "toughchick lesbian ninja" thing. Has an English accent. Has this tattoo on her left forearm. Kink knows her (ref).

Spider grew up in England. Her Mom's name is Lena, and her step Dad's (or just Mom's boyfriend's) name was Ed. Lena was German, and died of hepatitis C two years before Spider moved to the US.

Spider was 19 when she moved to America.

On Oct. 3rd, Spider found Lucy at some bar and held her at gunpoint for information about the Gun. Lucy didn't tell her anything. We don't yet know why Spider is after the Gun.

On Oct. 26th Spider kidnaps William - she was actually looking for Lucy, but she thinks Lucy will agree to deal with her to save William.

On Oct. 28th, after calling Lucy and offering her William in exchange for the Gun, Spider met with McPherson, who, as it turns out, hired her through Vaquero. McPherson demands the Gun or... um, else. After she got back to wherever she is keeping William, one of her guys, Delaje, told her that Johnny Deuces might "have a lead" on Lucy.

Carlos Delaje

One of Spider's guys. He is watching William (and probably helped Spider kidnap him). On Oct. 28th, he met with Johnny Deuces trying to get a lead on Lucy. After that, he called McPherson and told him that Johnny has the Gun in the pawn shop, and that his brother (Pedro Suarez - Corazon) has the ticket.

Shaylee Kingston

Vaquero is her pimp. Shaylee spent a night in jail with Lucy. Knows Spider. At some point, Vaquero thought she was holding out on him. Had occasional "encounters" with Kink.

Samuel Ligaya

Sam worked for/was in good favor with Tony Viet and ESC (Eastside Social Club). On the day of his death Sam was contemplating becoming a lawyer because pushing became too risky to be worth it - what, with all of those dealers dying on their drug corners. On the other hand, if all of those guys have actually been taken out by the Mi Casa gang (which they, heh, weren't - but Sam didn't know that), he could talk to his friend Shawn about going over to Mi Casa. Sam just finished talking to Matt Viet when Kerry (previously known as Cigarette) asked him to look at a canoe. Sam was the one to tell Kerry about Mi Casa's inside cop, Nakagawa, just before dying (ref to all the above).

Shawn Claverias (aka Architect)

Probably is Sam's friend (ref) in Mi Casa. Seems to be the first one to know about the new Big Hat.

Johnny Deuces

Is the guy in this video.  While flipping through pictures of Lucy bathing, he is on the phone with Matt (Matt?  aka our wtf guy?), asking about Big Hat, Lucy, and the Gun.  In the end, he thinks he can make a lot of money selling the information he has about Lucy.

Might be in Mi Casa.  Knew Harry Nakagawa.

Drives this car.

On Oct. 14, he managed to get himself invited to William's party, and stole Lucy's Gun.

On Oct. 18th Johnny pawned the Gun - that is the best way to hide it - at Fazio Collateral (1-818-332-7905).

On the 20th, Johnny decides that he doesn't like McPherson (Mi Casa's new Big Hat), and wouldn't give him the Gun. Later Johnny tells one of his brothers that he pawned the Gun (original).

On Oct. 28 Johnny met with Delaje - one of Spider's guys - and told him that he doesn't like MiCasa's new cop, and that if he found the Gun, he wouldn't want to give it to McPherson. Eventually he tells Delaje that he has the Gun, and that his brother - Pedro Suarez (aka Corazon Suarez) - has the ticket (ref). Delaje brought Johnny to McPherson, and after Johnny told Don that the gun Kerry "got from the pawn shop" is not the gun he took there, Don had Delaje shoot Jonny.

Toller Fazio

Johnny Deuces took the Gun to his pawn shop on Oct. 18th. After Johnny left, Toller called Tony Viet, but, as Tony put Matt in charge for the day, told Matt that he has the gun that "people have been asking about". On the 20th, Matt forced Toller into giving him the Gun.

Phillip Kim

Maurice Pikar's connection at the LAPD. Probably works with Don McPherson on gang-related stuff.

On Oct. 4 met with Maurice at Applebee's to collect the gun Maurice promised him. Also had a conversation with Don McPherson immediately thereafter about flying Elvises (well, not really - he told McPherson that Maurice is interested in Robert's murder).

Donald McPherson

Is one of the speakers in this phone call (the other speaker is Phil Kim). He is a US Marshall, investigating gangs. Despite that, he is interested in Robert's murder.

Don was meeting Ben Rojas at 11000 Wilshire Blvd (FBI building, Los Angeles) at 2 pm (date unclear, but the napkin file went up on the 28th).

Don is also interested in Lincoln Coover (Kink) - the shooter at the cemetery, killed Robert Brown.

Don saw Maurice give Kim the gun he promised him (ref). As soon as Don heard that Maurice was asking Kim about Robert, he became very interested in him.

Don found Kerry Tucker 5 years after Kerry killed his stepfather (on July 4th, 2000), and couldn't bring himself to arresting him. Now the two have a strange relationship - Kerry kills "bad people", and Don seems to be orchestrating the killings. A few weeks later we find out that Don found Kerry not because Kerry murdered his stepfather, but because Kerry is a Sullivan (Tucker was his stepfather's last name). Apparently, the Sullivans' family history is tightly tied to that of the Gun (ref).

On Oct. 7th, after Kerry mentioned Nakagawa as an inside cop for Mi Casa, Don met Nakagawa "to talk." While the "talk" is presently delayed, Don has Nakagawa's arrest warrant request for Matt Viet.

On Oct. 12th, after Kerry sounded a little disillusioned about killing Victor, McPherson prepared a set of horrid photos in an envelope with Victor's return address to show to Kerry as proof of what a sick bastard Vic was (and that he needed to be killed).

The next day, Don McPherson does meet with Nakagawa - they have a quick beer at some "no-name place", and then go up to Harry's apartment to polish it off with scotch. There, he tells Harry to "walk away" (from what?), and, upon Harry's refusal (and also probably because Harry said that he knows about his "pocket killer", Kerry), shoots him. Then he lifts his pockets and finds Shawn Claverias' card. Now Don is Mi Casa's new Big Hat.

On Oct. 18th, Don hanged Tony Viet.

Don has two kids - a son named David and a daughter, who, I'm sure, also has a name. He is divorced, and his kids live with his ex-wife.

In 1996, Don arrested Lothar Barbel in some loose connection with the Oklahoma City bombing. This is when Don first found out about the Gun - Lothar told him about it, and also about "the diamonds". Don begins tracing the Gun. In 2001, he finds it on display in a museum (courtesy of Lucky).

It turns out that McPherson is the one who hired Spider (through Vaquero). He met with Spider on Oct. 28th and told her to get the Gun or else. After that he met with Kerry and was just about to tell Kerry why he had him murder people (well, at least Gun-connected people), but was interrupted by Delaje calling to tell him that he found the Gun (or the guy that has the ticket to the pawn shop which has the Gun - Pedro Suarez, Johnny's brother, aka Corazon Suarez). McPherson gave Pedro's address to Kerry, who recognized Corazon's last name. Don noticed Kerry's reaction. A few hours later Kerry called Don and told him he has the Gun - only it isn't really our Gun. After Don made sure that this isn't the gun Johnny took to the pawn shop, he had Johnny shot, and asked Kerry to go back to the pawn shop.

Benito Rojas

Was meeting Don McPherson at the FBI building at 2pm (date unclear, but the napkin file went up on the 28th). It seems Ben is FBI and is on Robert's case, but that isn't all that clear at this point. Is after Matt Viet. May be fish00k.

On Oct. 20th, Ben got a phonecall from Matt, and though he promised to try to help him, Matt didn't believe him and hung up, though not before informing Ben that his cousin Tony was killed by a cop.

Harry Nakagawa

Harry is Mi Casa's inside cop (Paco confirmed this here). In two years he wants to be retired and in Mexico. Before that, though, he has to do something about Tony Viet and ESC, who are "a real pain in [his] ass" - because Matt is doing "high-profile" hax0ring for them, and also because they are just generally at odds with Mi Casa, probably.

On Oct. 7th, Harry met with two Mi Casa members - Cream and Ricky - to give them a gun to plant on somebody to be arrested later. Afterwards, he was stopped outside by Don McPherson, who wanted "to talk" (McPherson got Nakagawa through Kerry; Kerry, in turn, got Nakagawa's name from Sam Ligaya just before he shot him). Btw, Harry was "griping about... a gang kid hacking cellphones", so it's possible that he knows this was Matt Viet.

On Oct. 8th, Harry met with Don McPherson, and was shot by him - either because he refused to "walk away" from something, or because he knew about McPherson's "pocket killer" (Kerry).

Kerry Tucker, aka Cigarette

Cigarette likes to kill people: so far, he killed at least Paco (Sept. 20th) (and, possibly, 4 other gang members), Victor, and Maurice Pikar. His trademark phrase is "That's a funny place for a canoe." He probably uses a Heckler & Koch USP 9 millimeter (ref).

On Sept. 29th he talked to Clay.

On Oct. 4th he killed Maurice Pikar in a parking garage.

On the same day, he came to Corazon's place to give her Victor's key, and called himself Kerry. He seemed very interested to know that Victor might be keeping copies of porn he made in the safe deposit box (the key to which he gave to Corazon). Took Corazon's business card.

Kerry was severely abused by his stepfather (and so were his sisters and Mother). The abuse caused Kerry to stutter all the way through his childhood; then he went to the Army; and after he got out, he shot his stepfather. As it turns out, his stepfather (Schoolteacher) murdered one of his sisters (they were both significantly younger than Kerry). On July 4th, 2000, Don McPherson had every intention of arresting Kerry for this murder (this case seemed to lay dormant for five years prior to that), but couldn't bring himself to it ("after watching the guilty walk off behind their well-paid lawyers" he just couldn't put a person who was so badly abused in childhood behind bars). Kerry probably grew up in Bakersfield, CA (at least his sister lives there). A fun bit of trivia: Don and Kerry have the same birthday. Kerry's last name should have been Sullivan (Tucker was his stepfather's last name) - his family history is somehow tied to that of the Gun (ref).

From this transcript of a phone conversation (Kerry is italicized, McPherson is not), it becomes apparent that McPherson is in some way behind the murders Kerry's committed; and the conversation itself actually takes place after Kerry kills Sam Ligaya (a gang member). Before dying, Sam told Kerry about Mi Casa's inside cop, Nakagawa.

For some reason, after meeting with Corazon, Kerry decided to write her a letter.

Failing the letter, he sent her this note and later that day (Oct. 10) went to the bank with her to open Victor's safe deposit box. To his surprise, there was no horrific/nasty pr0n there. Baffled, Kerry calls Don seeking confirmation that the people he's been killing are, indeed, bad people. McPherson offers him proof - Vic's photos (you can let your sick imagination go wild here). Kerry promises to come over to take a look tomorrow (Oct. 12), but, still filled with doubt, heads over to Clay's store for a confession of sorts: what if McPherson's information is wrong? Or incomplete?

On Oct. 14, Kerry visited Corazon again, and nearly got shot by her (oh, and also Corazon told him that she is not really completely a "she" yet, as she is a pre-op transsexual). In the end, she just threatened him with the police/jail. Afterwards, Kerry stopped by Clay's for some more forgive-me-Father-for-I've-sinned talk.

On Oct. 22nd, Simon shoved Kerry into a trunk, and brought him to his place for interrogation. After Simon showed him pictures of Robert's murder - probably in the same kind of envelope that McPherson had the "horrid Victor porn substitution" photos in - Kerry confessed that he killed Maurice, that he hired Kink, and the he himself was hired by McPherson. After Simon let him go, Kerry went to Corazon's place. Faced with the fact that he allowed himself to be fooled into murdering people and slightly, um... disoriented, he decides that he will trust only Corazon.

On Oct. 28th Kerry met with McPherson. McPherson told him to check out the pawn ticket (the one Johnny gave to his brother after he pawned the Gun); Kerry recognized Corazon's last name, but agreed to find Pedro anyway. Then he went to Corazon's place, where Corazon told him that she is Pedro, Johnny's brother, and that yes, yes, she does have the pawn ticket. So, instead of Pedro (who is actually Corazon), Kerry brought Don a fake gun. Don, of course, recognized the fake, and asked Kerry to go back to the pawn shop to see why the gun was switched.

Now Kerry is looking into his family tree himself.

Lothar Barbel

Lothar runs Liberty Calls (888-217-2311) - an anti-Semitic "patriot" organization.  Wrote the book "How Jews Cost the South the South the Civil War - the Confederacy and the Zionist Conspiracy."   As best as I can tell, he implies that Zionists were responsible for the erosion of states' rights after the Civil War and Washington's dominance over the affairs of the nation (ref). According to McPherson, Lothar is crazy (though smart).

In 1996 Lothar was part of the "militia fax network" that was/may have been somehow involved with the Oklahoma City bombing. On March 26, Don McPherson arrested him on "printing and passing fake money order" charges.

Being the Civil War researcher/collector, Lothar knows something about the Gun "and the diamonds". As Lothar continues to track the Gun, he learns that someone in England got a fake J.E.B. Stuart gun... um, a long time ago *insert some Illuminati conspiracy crap*. He also learns that around 1929 someone named Richardson had the Gun.

Lothar also complied the Sullivan family tree (Kerry Tucker's family tree) because they have something to do with the history of the Gun (ref).

Alex Lieu, aka hikerd00d

It appears he died while hiking. He couldn't call a rescue team due to the cell phone outage Sept. 21-22.

Lionel "Lucky" Brown, aka thedealer

lucky@lastcallpoker.com

Is Lucy's uncle, and Robert's father (this is a little confusing, because here he is called her "great Uncle"). Had an Uncle, Seamus, and an Aunt, Mary (ref). Or, um, maybe Mary is his Mother. Despite being dead, plays online poker, and keeps leaving us messages via characters' voicemails.

He left her the Gun - and old 1851 Navy Colt, aka the J.E.B. Stuart gun, that he got during WWII (well, and a pocketwatch too, but it hasn't been important yet). He says he got it "a long time ago, back in my army days, just after it killed a man."   Btw, J.E.B. (a Confederate General during Civil War) was Lucky's kin (as Lucky told us during poker chat on Oct. 12). Captain Whitecloud got the Gun from a war buddy of his, an "old Nebraska lawman's son" after he was shot by a German sniper. His buddy told him never to have the Gun at a poker game because "every time it shows up at a game, somebody dies". After Maurice killed Mueller with Whitecloud's Gun, Lucky took it because he took the rap for the murder (wisely deciding that Maurice has already killed enough Germans after the war was over). Btw, Al Capone's brother was a Nebraska lawman (ref) - that would be Robert Richardson, aka James Hart, aka Two-Gun Hart, aka Vincenzo Capone, Al Capone's brother; he was a Prohibition agent in Nebraska. He bought "Colton White’s gun" - the Gun - from "an old Texan" years ago and will probably give it to his son around 1937. Colton White is the main character in GUN.

On Oct. 6 Lucky held a tournament at lastcall. Maurice showed up, and Lucky asked him if he got his message ("ALL IN") - which Maurice, apparently, didn't (get). Ahem.

After the San Francisco live event on Oct. 15th, Lucky transports lastcall back to 1945 and becomes a character.

At the end of the war, Lucky had two best buddies, and they all called themselves the Three Musketeers. Lucky was also friends with someone named Dutch (ref).

On Oct. 13, 1945, Lucky got a letter from his Uncle Seamus. Later that night, he planned on going to Metropole to play poker.

On Oct. 16th Lucky finds out that Mitzie is a morphine addict, has a conversation with Ernst about it, and tells him that Jerry probably wouldn't believe it. Then he goes to check on Mueller (because Whitecloud asked him to).

On Oct. 18th, Reed asked Lucky to help him out with the poker game. Lucky agreed, and even promised to bring more people to the game.

Later that day, Lucky witnessed Maurice kill Mueller (who killed Whitecloud) with the Gun, and decided to cover for Maurice (Maurice was getting into too much trouble killing too many Nazis, and, besides, Lucky was made "his babysitter"). Lucky took the Gun as the murder weapon. Because of that, Lucky was unable to make the game.

Gerald Monteverde (Jerry)

Lucky's wartime buddy. In Germany, in the fall of '45, he was all distraught over what "happened to his little Fraulein For Rent" (her name was probably Mitzie - ref). They probably "opened Buchenwald" together. Served (together?) in 101st Airborne division (the "Screaming Eagles"). Or maybe it was the 80th Infantry. Jerry was "bawling his eyes out back at the Metropole" at the time Lucky got the Gun "just after it killed a man."

Might or might not be the Jerry talked about here. According to Lucky, Jerry "went home, got a college degree on the GI Bill and married a nice girl from Duluth".

After the San Francisco live event on Oct. 15th, Lucky transports lastcall back to 1945 and becomes a character.

On Oct. 13th, after having bought a "bar girl" Mitzie "overpriced" drinks and getting her into bed (at Metropole), Jerry tells her he loves her and contemplates marriage - with a possible relocation to California (ref).

Also, it seems that Jerry didn't particularly like Maurice - thought he "thought the worst of everyone".

On Oct. 14th, Jerry saw Mitzie try to "entertain" Whitecloud as she and Hanna listened to Martin talk about his trip to Nuremberg.

On the 17th, Ernst approached Jerry at Metropole with proof of Mitzie's morphine use. Mitzie shot Ernst; Jerry offered to cover for her, but Mitzie told him she would rather go to prison. Jerry left before the police got there.

Capt. William Reed (aka Polaris)

Had these two coded messages from Ursa: 1, 2. While burning them (in Munich), he drinks and weeps over the fate of Russian (?) agents, who will be "shot first and then sent to Siberia" for having assisted the Americans.

On Oct. 14th Reed meets Whitecloud in Metropole and tells him about the train that will be carrying Soviet agents who collaborated with him, as well as other "politically suspicious" persons from Nuremberg to Russia. John offers his help.

On Oct. 17th, Reed asks Whitecloud to help him steal the train, and Whitecloud agrees. They begin implementing their plan by taking the train out of custody of a U.S. Lieutenant. However, just as they are ready to take off to [supposedly] Bamberg, a Russian officer (Vasilyev) tells them that they cannot move the train, as their paperwork (fake paperwork signed by a (fake?) OSS Colonel Claiborne) is not properly authorized by Russian authorities - namely, Yugrina. Vasilyev then calls an American Captain, who orders the engines shot down, and tells Reed to get lost until he can get his paperwork in order. Reed and Whitecloud drive back to the Metropole.

After Martin tells them about the SS loot, they meet with Svetlana and offer it to her in exchange for the train. After she refuses (she finds the risk too great), Reed offers her a poker game. The "gamble for human lives" is set for the 19th at the Metropole.

The next day Reed asked Lucky to help him win in the poker game. Lucky reluctantly agrees, and also offers the help of LCP tournament winners. Svetlana lost the game, though not before two players lost their refugees' lives (one of them was Martin/Maria's Father, Henrick Halder). Thunderclap8 took the Nazi gold.

Capt. John Whitecloud

Captain Whitecloud got the Gun from a war buddy of his, an "old Nebraska lawman's son" after he was shot by a German sniper. His buddy told him never to have the Gun at a poker game because "every time it shows up at a game, somebody dies".

He shot Ernst's bother and rescued Father Mueller and Martin. Afterwards, John brought both of them to Metropole and asked Maurice Pikar to take care of them.

The next day, after Otto Griff informs him that police found the bodies of Ernst's brother and the boy he shot, John meets William Reed. After Reed tells him about the Nuremberg train (carrying agents who collaborated with Americans, "business owners, intellectuals who criticized Stalin, journalists" back to Russia to be sentenced on political grounds), John offers his help.

The same day John tried to brush off Mitzie and heard Martin talk about his Nuremberg story.

On Oct. 17th, Reed asks Whitecloud to help him steal the train. Whitecloud agrees, even though he could get court-martialed for it. When they get to the train, they are not allowed to move it, because their fake paperwork is not properly authorized by either Americans or Russians (namely, Yugrina).

After they got back to the Metropole, Whitecloud was approached by Martin, whose parents were on the train. Martin told him that while he watched the SD officer being hanged, he heard the said officer offer them a lot of money, and even heard where that treasure was hidden (the people didn't understand him, and Mueller, who was also at the hanging, missed the bit about the loot's location). Whitecloud, Reed and Halder drive up to Yugrina's hotel and offer her the loot (which was probably being saved up by the Nazis to finance their "escape from justice" after the War was over) in exchange for the train. After she refused (she even refused letting *some* people escape - as opposed to all), Reed offers her a poker game: winner-take-all - the gold and the train. The poker game is set for 19th at the Metropole.

Otto (who must have overheard their conversation) asked Whitecloud to let him in on the deal (threatening to go to Occupation authorities otherwise), and Whitecloud agreed. However, Johnny was unable to honor the agreement, as he got shot by Mueller (as per Svetlana's orders who feared just that - that Whitecloud would agree to cooperate with Otto) later that day.

Svetlana Yugrina

Russian, NKVD Major. Lived in Pskov before the war; served in Croatia aiding Partizan forces for some time during the war (ref).

On Oct 14th, Franz Mueller sent her this message coded in morse (transcript, translation). Later that day, she writes a letter to her superior asking to delay her discharge from NKVD due to an investigation of a train from Nuremberg to Russia (ref). Yet later that day, she ponders her bleak future in Russia while waiting for Franz Mueller to arrive, and notices a man with a steel briefcase (she met him in Yugoslavia before and played poker with him) - Capt. Reed.

It follows (translation) from the message Mueller caught that Vasilyev (Svetlana's NKVD boss?) wants to send Svetlana on the train (the train is to carry politically suspect persons back to Russia).

On the night of the 18th, she met with Reed and Whitecloud (and Martin Halder) who proposed a money-train exchange to her. While she had to refuse that offer (she was having doubts about the loot itself), and even refuse to allow only a few people escape from the train (as that would be too risky for her), she eventually agreed to a poker game - winner-takes-all: train for loot. Afterwards, she was approached by Otto Griff (who must have overheard the conversation), who wanted in on the deal (he would help Svetlana to cheat, and she would share the gold). And though he threatened her with Occupation authorities, she told him to get lost.

Fearing that Griff might approach the Americans with the same offer (which he, heh, did), she met with Mueller the next morning and ordered him to kill Whitecloud (according to her, she has no fear for Reed as he is a bad player).

The game took place on Oct. 19th, and many LCP/uF players participated. Svetlana lost (although before she did, two refugee lives were lost), and, as per agreement, the winner (Thunderclap8) got the Nazi gold. During the game, Svetlana scored a way to flee to North America and, to that end, obtained some fake documents.

Father (Franz) Mueller

His name was in Maurice's little black book. According to Svetlana, he is a loyal Socialist. Lucky confirmed that he was "a spy--selling our guys out to the russians". On Oct. 13, 1945, he witnessed the hanging of the SD officer that Otto Griff was after. He is [allegedly] Martin's Uncle (ref).

Otto saw him along with two boys at the hanging and sent his helpers to get information out of them. When Mueller said he didn't know anything, they killed one of the boys, Albrecht. Officer John Whitecloud made it just in time to save them, and shot one of Otto's guys. Then Whitecloud took Mueller and the other boy, Martin (last name Halder), to Metropole.

At night (Oct. 14), Franz snuck out of his room in Metropole, went to the bathroom, and sent this message in morse to Svetlana Yugrina (transcript, translation) - offering information about the Nazi gold (presumably the SD officer list) to USSR. Later in the night, in the same bathroom, while looking at demobilization lists for American troops, Mueller catches this message being transmitted (translation) - someone ratted out Svetlana.

On the morning of the 18th, Mueller met with Svetlana, who told him about the poker game and persuaded him to kill Whitecloud (threatening to turn Franz's brother - an arch-reactionary - to Soviet authorities).

Martin Halder

Martin looks to be a girl (confirmation) - somebody's daughter mentioned to Polaris by Ursa Minor (ref), to be more specific. Both Lucky and Maurice knew that, and knew that her name was Maria. In 1945, Martin/Maria is 11 (ref). Martin is from Wittenberg; he and his Uncle Franz Mueller were fleeing to safety when they found out that Martin's Father (a professor) is trying to meet them in Nuremberg (ref).

On Oct. 13th Martin (along with Franz Mueller and Albrecht) witnessed the hanging of an SD officer. He heard the officer attempting to trade his life for a lot of money, and even heard where the loot was located (Mueller didn't). He was then interrogated by Otto's cronies (Ernst and his brother), rescued by John Whitecloud, and brought to hotel Metropole. When John asked Maurice Pikar to take care of them, Martin recognized Maurice from the hanging.

On Oct. 14th, he saw John Whitecloud and Bill Reed drinking together at Metropole.

On the 17th, he saw Mitzie taken away by the police after she shot Ernst. Later that night, he/she told Whitecloud and Reed about his parents being on the train and about the SS loot, and then drove with them to meet with Svetlana.

Mitzie

Worked the bar at the Metropole in Nuremberg (and not as a waitress). Jerry was in love with her.

On Oct. 13th, Otto told her and another girl, Hanna Bauer, to find out what Mueller and Martin know about what happened earlier that day. On Oct. 17th Mitzie shot Ernst as he was offering Jerry proof of her morphine addiction. Though Jerry offered to cover for her, she decided to go to jail.

Otto Griff

Owned a club in Nuremberg (ref) - probably at the Metropole.

On Oct. 12th 1945, he got this anonymous letter (translation) - someone is offering him a list of SD officers in exchange for ID. The next day Otto sent someone named Ernst to negotiate. Ernst confirms that the jewelry in possession of SD officers is real, and Otto agrees to complete the deal (to be sure, he plans on shooting the SD officer instead of going through the trouble of getting him a photo id). But when they (Otto, Ernst, and Ernst's brother - Gunther (?)) go to meet with the man (who is an SD officer himself), they witness him being hanged - with silent agreement from an American soldier (probably Maurice). Otto searched the body, but, finding no diamonds or anything that could lead to them, sends the brothers after the three refugees who watched them take down the body. He also considers the American soldier as a person who might have any "clue about the location of the loot".

The three refugees turn out to be a priest (Franz Mueller) and two boys, Albrecht and Martin. After Ernst's brother killed Albrecht and was himself killed by Whitecloud, and after Whitecloud brought the priest and the boy to Metropole, Otto orders two of his "bar girls" - Mitzie (who happens to be "Jerry's girl") and Hanna Bauer - to find out what they know about "what happened earlier today".

The next day (Oct. 14th), Otto Griff implies to John Whitecloud that he knows that John shot Ernst's brother.

On the 18th Otto finds out that Reed, Whitecloud, and Yugrina set up the poker game. It is a little unclear who Otto approached first - Yugrina or Whitecloud - but he proposed to both of them that they let him in on the deal, lest he tell the Occupation authorities. Svetlana refused, and Whitecloud agreed - though it didn't matter much, as Whitecloud got shot the day before the game. Otto might or might not have witnessed that (see bottom left).

Jack McGurn, aka machinegun

On Oct. 18, 1929 Jack received a telegram from Al *gasp* Capone that Robert Richardson is coming to Chicago. Al told Jack to give Richardson "anything he wants".

1929 - between Friday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 30

Jack also has on his desk (c/o 4 Deuces) an IOU note from P.F. Strauss for $70 000.

Jack has a plan to rob an armored car (he knows the day, the guards and the route) to steal enough barer bonds to "go legit").

Jack seems to be a boxer - he was (?) in a match with Armageddon Jones on Nov. 30.

On Saturday Jack, Mickey Ross, and Jake Guzik decide to blow up Al Capone's car when he arrives to the train station from the Philadelphia prison.

Sunday morning Jack went golfing with Palmer Strauss, who owes him $70 000.  As it turns out, Strauss is the person that tells McGurn when and how the bonds will be moved; in exchange, McGurn forgives Strauss' debt.  All of this happens right after Black Thursday.

McGurn's plan failed because Armageddon took the bonds to the bank himself, and the car that Jack ended up robbing went empty.  It turns out that Al Capone financed this deal, and now he wants his money back.  Afterwards (and probably after sending some guys to find Palmer Strauss), Jack went back to his hotel and phoned his people to assemble in Cicero (which is where Al's brother Ralph operated) at "11 tonight".

Mickey Ross, aka one-eyed Mickey

1929 - between Friday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 30

On Friday Mickey was at the 4 Deuces when some kid named Pete (Peter Schwimmer, as is turns out) came in looking for the person that killed his Uncle. Jake Guzik, Officer O'Kelly, and a few other people took Peter outside and beat him up. Incidentally, it was Mickey who killed Pete's Uncle "last February" - during Saint Valentine's Day Massacre.

On Saturday, Mickey proposes to blow up Al Capone's car when they pick him up at the train station (he would be getting home from the Philadelphia prison).  The next day Richardson/Vincenzo Capone, who found out about Mickey' plan through Anita, sits down with him for a friendly game of poker.  Except that he brings the Gun.  Uh-oh.  Al's brother shoots Mickey - mostly to save the lives of his nephew and sister-in-law (who would have been in the car with Al).

Jake Guzik, aka greasythumb

At some point Jake, Mickey, and Jack McGurn played a few hands of poker. They are talking about Al getting too much attention, and about Jack's new scheme to steal enough barer bonds to "go legit".

1929 - between Friday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 30

On Saturday Jake praised Anita for being gutsy and, after sending her off, had this conversation with Ross and McGurn, in which the three decided to blow up Al Capone's car on the way from the train station when he arrives from Philadelphia.

After McGurn's plan to steal the bearer bonds fails, Jake tells McGurn that Al Capone - who financed the deal - wants his money back.

Anita Defazio

1929 - between Friday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 30

Anita is a singer at the 4 Deuces. She is from New Orleans, and she is black, though she disguises herself as white so that she could work in Chicago (ref).  Al Capone pays her to gather information for him - so she tries to know what people around the place are talking about. On Friday night, she asked Mickey Ross one too many questions, and he beat her, and broke her fingers (ref).

On Saturday she decides to be brave and come back to Four Deuces.  Richardson talks with her, and Anita realizes that he knows she spies for Al Capone.  Right after that, she got called by Jake Guzik, and, after he sent her off, managed to eves-drop on his conversation with Ross and McGurn (the one where they plot to get rid of Al).

The next night she mails a coded set list to Al (who is in a prison in Philadelphia), telling him of Ross' plan.

Robert Richardson

Lothar Barbel knew that Richardson had the Gun in 1929, and suspected that Richardson might be only an alias. Richardson is with law enforcement (ref).  As it turns out, Vincenzo Capone was a Prohibition officer in Nebraska.  He got the Gun from "old Texan", who told him the Gun was Colton White's. Colton White is the main character in GUN. Eight years later Richardson will give the Gun to his son (and Whitecloud will take it from there).

On Oct. 11, 1929 Richardson, aka Two-Gun Hart, aka Vincenzo (James) Capone - Al's brother - received a letter from Al asking him to go to Chicago to make sure his son and wife are ok (Al already suspects his guys are trying to "get him").

1929 - between Friday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 30

On Friday Richardson arrived to Chicago, Gun in hand. Stopped at the Four Deuces on Wabash Street and had a chat with Mickey Ross.  On Saturday, Richardson/Capone spoke with Anita (Capone's spy).  After he found out that Mickey plans on killing not only Al, but also his wife and son who would be in the car with Al, he shot Mickey with the Gun while playing poker, and headed back home.

Peter Schwimmer

1929 - between Friday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 30

On Friday he came into 4 Deuces demanding revenge for his Uncle's murder (his Uncle was killed during Saint Valentine's Day Massacre by Mickey Ross). After he was badly beaten up outside, a black man walking by helped him up and took him to his place. The man had this poster about a boxing match on Nov. 30 between Jack McGurn and Armageddon Jones on his wall. After Pete wakes up, he has a conversation with Jones: Jones tell him that in order to have revenge on Jack McGurn (who set up Saint Valentine's Day Massacre), he should try to turn him over to the law, and that he should start collecting evidence by getting acquainted with Jack's wife.

The next morning, Peter goes to see McGurn's wife, Louise.  After seducing her in record time!... and while under threat of being killed by her husband for cheating! - how hot was this guy? - Peter gets her to tell him about Ross' and Strauss' bearer bonds
